According to CoinDesk, the bi-weekly market update for the CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) and the broad CoinDesk Market Index (CMI) highlights the performance of leaders and laggards in the cryptocurrency market. Over the past week, all 20 members of the CoinDesk 20 experienced gains, with six appreciating more than 20%. Alternative Layer 1 Smart Contract Platforms Avalanche (AVAX) and Solana (SOL) led the advance, posting gains of 28% and 25%, respectively. The overall CoinDesk 20 increased by 18%, while bitcoin (BTC) rose 15%.
Another alternative Layer 1, Aptos (APT), did not fully participate in the week's uptrend, advancing only 1%. The CoinDesk 20 tracks the world's largest and most-liquid cryptocurrencies in an investible index available on multiple platforms.
